The Cars

THE CARS

Benjamin Orr (real name Benjamin Orzechowski) was bass guitarist and occassional vocalist for The Cars (he sang the band's hits "Just What I Needed", "Let's Go" and "Drive", among others) He died from pancreatic cancer on October 3, 2000 at his home in Atlanta at the age of 53.

Orr and Rik Otcasek (who later dropped the 't' from his name) were both natives of Cleveland who played together at various time before moving to Boston, where they formed The Cars in the mid-1970's.
